Farms of the Past & into the Future, a history walk Sun 27th Oct 11am

Chingford Historical Society and David Boote offer a walk in two parts: an amble round Chingford Green picturing the area before the railway arrived (a rural backwater) and then, for those who are up for it, a climb over Pole Hill and down the other side, through autumnal Epping Forest, to Organiclea, with its cutting edge techniques for sustainable agriculture and living, on a historic site.

Everyone welcome, no charge and no booking needed. Meet by 11am at the junction of Station Road with Richmond Road (the Co-op store). The clocks will have changed, so you might have time for a breakfast at Belgique https://belgique.co.uk/shop/Shops/8_Belgique-Cafe-and-Patisserie-in-Chingford.html Helen’s Coffee on the Green or another cafe displaying art and heritage in the Chingford Art & Heritage Trail.

Bus 379 can take you home from the junction of Hawkwood Crescent and Drysdale Avenue, or walk back to Kings Head Hill and Chingford Green in about half an hour.
