WATCH AN ONLINE TALK by Roy Berg about the history of Chingford and District Model Engineering Club.

Ridgeway Park’s miniature railway is well known to anyone who grew up in Chingford. At this talk Roy Berg who has been chairman of the club for the past 15 years told us about some of the stories connected with the club which has been giving rides to scores of people since it opened on Chingford Day in 1945.

Apart from Walt Disney’s visit in 1952 the railway has also featured on Blue Peter and was involved with a world record.

Located in Ridgeway Park, Chingford E4 6XU, the railways are used to give rides to members of the public on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday afternoons between April and the end of September from 2pm – 5:30pm. https://chingford-model-engineering.com/about/ and for up-to-date information please go to their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CDMEC
